The words of demography. Science and semantic rigor

All scientific work requires a great deal of rigor, starting with an exact definition of the words and concepts used. Of course, this principle also applies to the science of population demography. The author, considering that semantic rigor has been lacking in a Dictionary of Demography and Population Sciences published in France, offers an uncompromising critique of the words and expressions in this dictionary. It thus offers a better knowledge of the words useful for quality demographic analyses.
