The population of the European Union: Characteristics, prospective and geopolitical challenges

The European Union, at 27 countries after Brexit, has more deaths than births and low fertility. The European Union must, today and even more so tomorrow, face a "demographic winter". It is important to take stock of its demographic characteristics and examine some projections. An examination of the differences in the intensity of this "demographic winter" according to the European countries allows a more precise diagnosis to be made and invites solutions to be found.
