Borders in a context of geopolitical conflict. The example of the Senegal-Gambia Border

This article highlights the role played by the Senegal-Gambia border on the political crisis in Casamance. It also questions the effectiveness of governance strategies in these territories marked by multiple crises. These strategies involve the creation of a framework for consultation and self-defense committees by the local populations and multiple attempts at diplomatic rapprochement between the Gambian and Senegalese states.
